30 minute USB microscope
Tempted to try this because i have the radioshack microscope(which is a pain to use) and an old logitech webcam.
I will probably end up destroying them both.

On the other hand, that would be really cool if it works. Give it a shot and let us know either way, if you have the time.
I think this will be a weekend project while the girlfriend is out of town. May enlist the help of my dad. He is much better at soldering than me.
Did you see the one with the bottle cap and the CD lens.
Take bottle cap and punch a hole. Remove CD player lens and glue into hole. Place over camera. viola.
hmmm... wondering how well this will work with my old webcam now....

]its true, theres nothing very special about the microscope, the webcam is really the most important thing.. the zeiss lens helps with polar distortion of the image, and the optical zoom on the len under software control helps you get the focus right when things are super tiny.
if you wanted you could use an old lab table top scope, but.. why would you ruin a beautiful piece of equipment..
i only picked the radio shack scope because it is super cheap, and i had already purchased it on a whim.
yeah... i don tthink my webcam will work for this experiment.
the webcam he lists is $75! that is a little expensive to hack up.
Nice microscope!
