WB Wedge first try
Well I've only been at the whole straight razor thing for a little over a month now and I have full blown RAD and RRD. I'm enjoying the shaves so much I just had to try resto work. Now I'm almost sure it won't stop till I have a home made forge, heat treat oven and hollow grinder. Oh well! I should wait to try to post this till it is finished, but I'm so pleased with the way it is turning out, I thought it best to share now and maybe pick up a tip or two. For my first victim a Wade and Butcher Wedge. I chased one for a couple weeks on flea bay and this is what I ended up with. I decided to do one piece scales in Teak and to go big and bold enough to stand up to the beefy wedge. Not finished yet!

Go ahead and get the pins set and let us know how the scales hanle, looks like great work!

I'm still going to do a bit more thinking and shaping before I pin her. I'd also like to do a little v inset of checkering at the big end and maybe a diamond mid scale. The only trouble is I've never done checkering before, but I doubt that will stop me.

checkering on the flat surface should be pretty easy if you get your first line straight. that's a crazy design man, it looks cool. I am interested in hearing how they feel in the hand when shaving with it. good work!!
