Straight to greaseless or is flap wheel needed?

I can see the flap wheel being used to blast off most of the crud caked on some razors, but other items can be used to do that.

So, assuming all the crud has been blasted off, is a 120 grit or lower flap wheel still recommended before starting on the greaseless?

Depends on the severity of the corrosion. If all you have is light "tarnish" and staining, you can start on the greaseless compounds right away. The flap wheels work like a dentist's drill to remove any cavities before polishing.
