So In an attempt to tighten a sloppy pivot pin, I broke the scales on my w&b. I picked up a set of TI replacement scales from cs and gave it a shot. here are the results.

Looks good. How does it close?
A big hurdle with re-pinning is getting the blade to close without touching the scales.

it closes great actually. before i did the final cutting and peening of the pivot pin i kind of pinched the scales with my fingers and moved the blade to see about how tight the scales should be. worked for me.

can't say i'm done with the blade because i won't be happy til it's an absolute mirror finish, but i've gotten a lot done on it. there's just a few spots i'm not satisfied with yet so i'm going to take it down to about 600 and work my way up to 2000. i sand by hand too, the only thing i use a dremel for is for polishing with the buffing bit.

I'm to am going to attempt this as soon as my supplies arrive from CS. If it goes well I'm going to consider an attempt at making my own scales.
