Hello,
I bought this awesome stand that holds two straight’s in leather pouches. Problem is that the leather is so messed up they could never be used. Does any one know how I could get two of these pouches made and if I should go with different type of material vs. leather? Please let me know, any information would be greatly appreciated. I'm not going to volunteer anybody's services, but two members here make top quality strops. Tony Miller and KenRup do excellent leatherwork so perhaps a PM in their direction may yield positive results.

They are pretty neat and protect a razor very well when traveling. I like that idea better than them rattling around in a plastic toothbrush holder:-)
Yah, came with a wonderedge to boot! it was in very good condition, so it was a win \ win!
Thanks but I don't do sewn products. I had a monster Singer #29 here, a treadle powered leather sewing machine but prefer the removable hardware method on strops so sold the sewing machine.

Titanium - check your local yellow pages for leatherworkers or retailers selling leather goods like custom motorcycle jackets, belts, boots etc. They may be able to whack something together for you.

Those are very nice and Ostrich for $39 is a great price! I'll grant you the sewing could be straighter and a dark color thread would look better but still worth the price.

Nice! What would be the best way to have the item made? I am a cad designer so could draw you a detailed drawing with all of the dimentions that you would need to make it, and pictures of the orginals. Would that work for you? Could you send me a picture of what the elk leather looks like?

That is one neat looking rig. I love pouches. So this gives me an idea- a razor pouch with a brass frame around would be pretty cool I think.
It looks to me though, one would need the piece in hand to make an effective repair. Good luck with it.

First off, let me say that it is one, fine little razor stand.
Having said that, let's talk about a few technical issues related to the leather pouches on that stand.
First of all, the leather would seem to be of a thicker, firmer cut which was probably wet-formed to take (and hold) the desired shape. It might even have been dipped in molten wax after the forming so that it would be properly waterproof and hold its shape even better (I'm guessing about that last one).
However, even if you succeed in finding the proper weight of leather (no real problem) and the forming it (a bit more difficult, but still fairly easily done), you will then come to the second problem, which will be to properly replace the existing leather pouches.
If you look at the way the leather is mounted, you can see that the edges are held in a formed metal strip. Now if you are lucky, the pouches are made as two sides, sewn together and then just slide down into the formed leather and would be (I assume) easy to pull out and replace. On the other hand if that strip was pressed closed around the leather pouch to retain it (and it might be so), then it might be a bit trickier to prise that metal edging open (without damaging the metal) so that you can remove and replace the worn out pouches that are currently there.
Obviously, this is a bit of speculation, since I only have the one image to go by and cannot see all the close-up details.
I've got three pouches coming also---they look that good! I can tell from the emails she is picky about doing a good job. Picky in a good way:-)

I lucked out and the leather just slides down the rails and is held in place in by small pins on either side. Im just gonna get some ones made and give them a try. I sent MsBlackwolf all of the drawings with measurements and pictures of the originals so will see what she can cook up!
