'Pins' Question

Being new and having purchased a 'restoration project' for the learning aspect... I have fashioned some new scales from 'Yew' wood. The pins have me stymied though. What is typically used? In all the photos I have they all seem to be the same... don't tell there is a special 'pin store'?! :)
Also, is there a printed resource I may be able to refer to for basic restoration advice?
Assistance would be appreciated.

You need 1/8" brass rod and #0 brass washers.

Most hobby shops have the brass rod.

I have always bought my washers from either microfasteners or fastener-express.

I believe you want 1/16th inch. Not 1/8th.......

Agreed. The standard pinning material is 1/16.

The 1/16" brass rod you can get at most hobby stores
