That reminds me that I need to try to find Olivewood somewhere. I like the look of that a lot. I keep forgetting to do that when I get sidetracked.

I know bellforestproducts has some. I think upon hearing Glens advice about canarywood being very light I am just going to try Wenge. It is relatively cheap, hard, and I love the way it looks. The local shop also has 1/8 slabs of Walnut, so I might give that a go too.
Wild Olive wood is my all time favorite. The stuff is so dense it will sink! It has such fantasitic grain structure, and if you can find a nice Olive burl :dropjaw:... It is very nice to work with as well. Makes the shop smell like Olive oil.
