one pin or two?

When pinning the wedge, I've noticed that some folks use one pin and some use two. Is this just a personal preference?

Yes personal preference as to the design of the wedge end of the scales.... 1-2-3-4 pins Wooohooooo

Personal preference but in general a two pin tends to be used or look better on wider sized scales. There needs to be some distance between the two pins in order to aesthetically look good. It should be pleasing to the eye and look flush and uniform with the total look and design of the whole razor. What's more important when using 2 pins is the peening work needs to be immaculate and it should perfectly be aligned. 1 mm off and it shows.

Off course I'm talking and giving my opinion on a design point of view.

Which brings us back to personal preference.

What Max said. I would start with one pin until you get the pinning down. Like Glen says "Practice on Popsicle sticks".

I do think it serves a structural purpose on wider scales, too, as it can be hard to get them evenly tight across a wide plane with only one pin. Two compensates for minor surface variance.
