I'd go with a hybrid of two and three. Take the bulby top thing from three and spread the bottom out like you do on 2. That'd make a nice handle IMO
2 all day long. It's similar to the shape of my "dowel rod, drill press, and file" brush I have in the works.
So after two trial attempts at final shape number 4, this is what I came up with.

The final touch. Every thing is sealed in with PARKS epoxy glaze.
