Bob and my Bro

Well, as was reported, my bro got sidelined during our awesome visit to Bob's place a couple weeks ago. Bob finished up my bro's second razor and gave this medieval razor a set of wicked "Dragon's Foot" scales... Have you ever heard that Bob has a good eye? :D

So, my bro's design, and he did all the work up to the grinding, and Bob finished it up. Those scales are something special :rock:

Wow, Bob really went all out to finish this for me. I can't tell you guys how awesome this experience was.

With that cutout and the wedge shaped as it is, it looks kind of like a bird in flight in that first pic... Think of the blade as a wing. Was that the intention with the design?

As much as I'd like to take credit for the final design...a lot of it just turned out great after mistakes on my part. One of the finger notches was WAY too close to the pivot pin, so Bob had me make another and just grind them together...and the result ended up far better than the initial design. So luck, and a very good (and patient) teacher was far more responsible than anything that I had planned.
