Resto materials?

Hey all,

I cannot for my life find any replacement pins. I have been wanting to rescale a razor for a while, but I can't get a hold of the pins Ill need to put the new scales on.

Any tips?

I use 1/16th brass rod that I pick up at my local hardware store.

Some of the reputable vendors here offer pin kits. Check your favourite shops for those.

Some of the workshop stickies are a trove of information on these kind of things too.

PINS !!!!

As already noted you either make them or buy them

Making them is in the long run rather cheap BUT the initial out lay of cash is rather expensive since the washers come in packs of 100...
The rod is dirt cheap..

To buy them basically you get two pins for about the same as you can make 50...

The choice is yours sir...

+1 on making them yourself.

I got 1/16 brass rod from a hobby model store in my neighborhood and size 0 washers from microfasteners.com Then tap tap tap. Detailed instructions on how to make pins are in the Wiki. Theres a short learning curve but not too hard to do.

I just bought (minutes ago....) a package from The Well Honed Razor (www.thewellhonedrazor.com)

A package of five "pin sets" - four #0 washers, 2 #0 wide, and 2 pins, for $10. Completed with Paypal.
