Looks really good. Good detail. :beer2:
I really like them. Reminds me of the western style belts I used to wear alot. I have a wallet in my pocket right now that has that old style cowboy/western looking carving. Real cool looking scales. :tu
Nicely done. It looks like it took a lot of work. What kind of wood did you use? In the previous photos, I thought it was Buxus, but now it looks much darker.
Nice job!
Whatever finish you used really worked well to bring out the contrast in your carved areas. Good work!
The wood is birdseye maple without much figure.
Mackie, it is a great set of scales - I dont know what the blade was like prior, but it looks fine.
Now for the criticisms...I would match the peens at both ends. You have obviously put too much work into this for them not to match.
And personally I would have made the shape of the scales to a point at either end to suit the blade more. Either way they look super and its a far better job than I could do
WEELLL, I hate to admit it but I drilled the pivot end 3/32 to fit my washers and forgot I had an 1/8" drill in the drill press for a pocket knife I was making, and drilled the other end with that, so that's why they don't match. To bad so sad my bad.
Beautiful job Mac!! I really like the way they turned out. :)
Nice! You have done an excellent job with that. I agree about the pins, but if you're happy about it, then that is all that matters. Gotta make due with what you've got. Keep up the good work my friend!
