Worth my time... or money?

Hey Guys,

So I was being stupid on eBay a little while ago and bought this str8 with the hopes that I might learn to restore :boohoo:, I don't think I have the time to really commit to make it worth while but here is some good pictures of the razor... let me know what you think or what it would cost to restore..... Maybe add some custom scales?

Yes, it appears to be restoreable by the pics...

id say (depending on where you live) get it shave ready first
cause if its not a favorite why get custom scales?

What a pity that the one scale has lost a piece. Pick bone scales are rare and super cool IMO. If I had that razor I would try tightening the pivot pin .... if it needed tightening. If the pivot was tight I would clean the blade with some metal polish and hone it up and shave with it. No need for further restore IMO. :shrug:

I'm with Jimmy on this one. Yes, it's a shame that scale is broken, but if you can get a decent polish on it, and get it honed up just right, this could be a great looking (though of course not eprfect) razor.
On the other hand, a blade like this could go to one of the restore experts (I could see Max doing some great faux tortoise on this one!) for a polish/restore/hone/new scales and it would be a real winner that way, too!
