This is A For Barbers Use that had a lot of corrosion on the spine and blade faces.I decided to work the back to get rid of some of the corrosion, had to remove a lot of material to get rid of the corrosion.I had some other things to gold plate yesterday,so I also plated this as well.Think I will remove the gold and leave it in high polish.I honed it to make sure it hadnent warped with all the grinding, and it sharpened up very easy.I cant remember where I got this razor, but it had a note that I paid 8.00 for it.What do you think,is it worth putting some scales on it? Best regards Gary

Nicely done, Traveller! I wonder if Wade and Butcher had any idea how popular these razors would eventually become? It seems they didn't take great pains with all of their Barber's use razors on the aesthetics because they weren't designed for the English Gentlemen, but it was a great design that has withstood the test of time and will continue to do so for probably another 100 years or more. True classics!
I wouldn't recommend to people to take pristine blades and fiddle with them, but I know you restored this from pretty rough condition and that was a really nice touch!

Gary...
I like the work. A nice set of scales and one of Vlad's boxes to honor it and you'll be in like Flynn. I think WB's are some of the best... Wostenholm too
BTW... what happened to my bushings? :D

Absolutely scale it up! What a great effort on renewing an old razor. This one's back from the dead and that's an achievement. Now ... the question is what kind of scales will you use?

If you don't want it send me a PM!

Scales on that thing? Are you kidding?
Just send it to me and I'll dispose of it safely for you. :D
Kidding aside, nice job. I would remove the gold from the blade faces only but leave it on the spine and the tang.

Gary...
I agree with Vlad. Take the corner "curtains" of gold off for a much cleaner look.
And Randy... you don't have any money, remember?
Therefore, Gary, I'll give you $5 for it... :D
