Cheap razor, needs lots of love, here I go.
So I was searching eBay for a $.99 snag of a razor to practice sanding and honing and such. Bingo! I paid about $5, pretty much just paid for shipping.
I got her today and she has been mistreated and is in desperate need of TLC. Massive over-honing on toes and spine, what I consider to be a frown, a deep "lake" of a spot on one side, and some rickety old scales that barely keep the blade attached.
I just started some 215 grit sanding and she's already coming back to life. I plan to move up the grit on the sanding a bit and finish with the maas. Luckily there isn't much etching or stamping so I won't worry about that.
I'll save the scales for when I get my feet wet. I figure this is the best place for me to start and with such a low investment I have no fear. That and I have already giving myself 3 stitches so up hill from here. Below are the before pics from eBay.
