Working with LVS
Hi All,
i am ordering some of the acrylic laminate Paua shell from Masecraft to use for the first time. As this is real shell between clear and black acrylic i am surmising that when one cuts scales that the edge leaves the shell exposed. {i know it would be a really thin layer of shell.}
Anyhow, i was wondering if any of the craftsmen who have used this material could advise if the edge needs sealing, and if so, what method please?
Regards,

If no one chimes in just PM Maximilian or Philadelph. Both have plenty of experience with it.

The Paua shell is glued in a sandwich between two acrylic sheets, I am sure you do not have to seal the side.

No need to seal anything. Once you start contouring and sanding the scales it will nicely make everything look flush. One word of advise. Take your time sanding to be sure all scratches are gone from the acrylic.
