I have tried Maas , Autosol, and flitz and i can say that Maas is the by far the best for me at least. Flitz is pretty close but for some reason i can get more dirt/grime rust off with Maas.
Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish has given me good results:)
Blue Magic gets my vote. Also available in liquid but I personally prefer the cream.
For what its worth, I have used all the above, some of the 3M polishes, and Novus ones also. For metals, I use "Wrights Brass Polish" first to get the crud off , it is especially good for working on old safety razors, and then the Maas. Of all the above, I do like Maas the best for final polishing before buffing if that is necessary. Use barely just enough to coat the piece, then buff by hand with a rag over a finger tip. More applications give a better polish each time. It is great after 12K grit Micro-Mesh.

I'VE ALWAY BEEN A SEMCHROME FELLA'. FROM THE OLD DAY'S WHEN I RODE OLD RICE/BURNERS[HONDA'S SAZUKI AND SO ON] AND IT ALWAYS WORKED WELL FOR CHROME AND BARE STEEL AND WHATEVER ELSE I TRIED IT FOR. FILE THIS UNDER THE 'FOR WHAT ITS' WORTH DEPT.
THANKS FOR READING, TINKERSD OF SRP!
nipper,
I suppose it would depend for what task the polish is for ?
I used to use Solvol AutoSol before switching to MAAS. I have found MAAS to be excellent :)
There are some other 'abrasives' and 'polishes' that I have found to be useful now and again.
1) JB Bore Paste
2) Gold Medallion (now RemClean)
3) IOSSO Bore Paste
As you can see, these were originally for cleaning firearms, but they also do a good job with razors !
Have fun !
Best regards
