need cleaning advices
I bought this nice razor on Ebay it's a Beter Mano negra Flor de Lis 7/8. I think it's the same maker as Filarmonica, not sure... I like to know what is the best way to clean the blade and dont want to hurt the etching. There's no deep piting . Any ideas...
Thanks!

The best that you can do and keep the etching is some old fashioned elbow grease, a soft cloth and a good metal polish, such as Maas or Simichrome. You may have to live with some imperfections.

you may need to take a tumble with this one... as in giving the razor a round in a tumbler. There are a few threads here that you can search and find out all of the info about using tumblers for restoring razors with etchings.
Good luck

It looks like it will only need some minor cleanup. Personally I use Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish..it works for me. Any type of metal polish should do the trick though :)

Never-Dull would probably work too. Both of my SR's have some staining on them and they serve me just fine. As long as you have no rust or pitting, you should be OK

Nun2sharp, you say I need soft cloth but what kind? I have microfiber cloth or 100% coton.... Do you have suggestions?
Thanks

I like using old tea towels/hand towels that have been washed 100 times.
Another option: Ikea sells 100% cotton dish towels that are white with red stripes. these things are usually in a bin around their marketplace kitchen section, and are a 49 cents a piece (in canada). every time i'm there I pick up a handful for polishing.
hope this helps.

Thanks Maxi, I've got an Ikea next to where I live, I'll go check that out.
