The SHOP and SHED Thread!

The recent "barn" post inspired me. I know of no "finer thing in life" than puttering around in a shop or shed. I am convinced that the time spent in them is so beneficial that God does not deduct the hours puttered away in a shed from those alloted to us while we're here.

So show us your sheds. Your shops. From the little potting sheds to the woodworking shops to the bench out back where the bike and lawnmower repairs happen. I can't wait to see what great ideas spring from this!

Shop's 12X16, built by me and some friends over a few weekends.

Door handles bandsawed out of some pine 4X4 stock,
"weather-proofed" with several coats of 50/50 mix of water and wood glue.
Yes, wood glue. These things haven't altered in appearance in 5 years,
and I think they're good forever.

The floor was laid with 2 layers of 3/4 ply. On top of that I laid some ancient beadboard donated to me by someone who ripped it out of the warehouse he took over. This took forever to do, but it upped the "character" quotient enough to be worth the time.

Tablesaw and outfeed.
Hanging from the side of the outfeed is a router set in a base
that hinges to hang out of the way when not in use.

Let's see those Shops 'n Sheds!

Its not enough that you have the perfect and a most pristine shop. Its the idea supported by the pictures that you can actually use your shop, while those of us in other parts of the country can barely keep the house warm! The pain, the pain!

That is beautiful ! :bow I have a walk in closet in my 2 bedroom condo converted to a shop of sorts. A lonely drill press and workbenches in there. I'd take a photo but I'd have to clean it first. :shrug:

Yes! It's the Shops 'n Shed 'n CLOSETS Thread!!! Show us those closets! Whatever we have, no matter how big or small is going to be inspiration for someone else!

That is a beautiful little workshop! As allready stated, very pristine. It almost looks like a little old museum with modern tools :)

I'm extremely jealous. That's an awesome workshop. I don't have the space for something that lavish. I work in a bikeshed where I have to move the bikes out of before I get to have some workspace.

Your shop may be nicer than my house. Nice looking setup youve got.

Great looking shop. Kudos to you and your friends on a nice job.

Those floors were definitely worth the time you invested into them and you recycled the beadboard and kept it out of a landfill or fireplace.
