Wink Maybe 1/8 inch lost - but should work.....

I've salvaged some razors with even deeper cracks or chips. Aside from the hone wear, it should prove to be a good shaver if it is a quality razor.

    Good luck! and Happy Shaving

I'm no expert, but it looks like grinding this one out would not leave you with much of a razor at all...Looks like you'd be cutting into the shoulder. Too bad...looks like a nice razor

You could probably hone it out or possibly do something like this if you have the know how. The blade would be getting a little on the short side, but on the other hand at least it wouldnt go to waste.

It looks like a 5/8s. If it was a larger razor I would say go ahead. I'm not sure I would do all the work to wind up with a 4/8s unless it was something really special.

Whatever you do there will be serious heel reprofiling involved.

    It certainly does Ollie

Personally, I'd go with Baldy's approach & cut n shut the heel.

It looks like way more work than the razor is "worth", IMHO. However, by the time you're done, you'd have learned a lot...

    Good luck
