next one

this time I took some before and middle shots. Someone has already had a go at this as there were grind marks left on the blade ,also the black marks on the blade is whats left of pitting.
Anyway I have made some scales ,the wood is hairy oak and is the last I have left.
I will have to be very carefull as this timber is prone to cracking and splitting:eek:
The markings on the shank say ""The ARTIST"" ,may be a bullshit artist for all I know,any way I will post some more when its done.
I am going to have to put a day away just for honing soon as I am starting to aquire a small collection of blunt razors

blade is done ,taken to 2000grit wet & dry just have to buff now

the original pictures the blade looks silver ... in the resulting "finished" blade pictures it looks gold.

how did u go about altering it to change the metal colour... or is it just camera lighting?

ps. what was your choice of cleaning substance to remove the black gunk on the orginal blade by the pins?

1 - the orginal blade is silver, the resulting finished blade looks gold in the pictures. how did u go about altering the colour? or is it just camera lighting.

2 - what did you use to remove all the black gunk that is around the pins on the shaft of the blade?

just plain old elbow grease,Oh and varying grades of wet and dry of course (emery cloth)
