The Redoing of Vladimir Schneider’s Velvet Touch Razors.
A few months ago I had the pleasure of placing the winning bid on Vladimir Schneider’s Velvet Touch razors that he put up for auction on eBay. After owning those for a couple of weeks Vladimir contacted and wanted to try putting CA (cyanoacrylate or superglue) on the scales in order to add a gloss to the Purpleheart wood which was used for the scales. He also wanted to put his insignia on the scales plus etch the blade with his insignia. I agreed to let him do so. I mailed the razors and the box back to him so he could perform his talents on these already nice looking pieces of art.
When I received the razors in the mail I could not believe the gloss on the scales. The grain and color of the Purpleheart wood really stands out with the CA on them. The insignia on the scales is really outstanding and so intricate. The insignia etching on the blade is so cool plus it really makes the razor look nice. Vlads talents and skill on these razors are so nice it is just a pleasure to sit back and look at them. He also honed both razors to the point where they shave very well. So his skills in that area are also outstanding.
Enjoy the pictures.
