Are you trying to say that you have something better to do than take care of us?
I always assumed the real Glen was an AI computer that's sole purpose was to answer all of our questions and the guy at the meets was an actor who has an ear piece with a direct link to "The Machine"
Does anyone else think that Glen needs a new nickname?
Great test, I occasionally use vinegar to clean metal and hard water...everyone here says that is a no no so I have not done it with a razor. I have heard of people using molasses to remove rust, it takes a few days soak but is supposed to be more gentle then vinegar and not eat the actual metal. Not trying to hijack your thread, but anyone try that here? or should I take an unusable razor apart and try it and let you guys know?
but if this alcohol thing works that would be amazing!
Neat test! One thing I would say though, is that this doesn't test the "rub alcohol on a razor after use because it will help the moisture evaporate" idea, which you see mentioned from time to time. Maybe the best way to test that would be to get the razors wet, and dry one set with a plain tissue, and the other with an alcohol soaked tissue?

12:00AM - Fumes from Alcohol knocked Glen out.
It wasn't the fumes, it was the double of Chivas :) sleepy time.. I have to thank the pups for waking me up at 4:45 to go out, so I got the 5:00 am shot :D
12:00 Midnight 7 hours

5:00 am 12 hours - There are tiny red rust spots forming on the 90% buffed razor above the wet line... The changes under the wet line on 4 of the razors are very subtle.. There is no change I can see to the SS razor..

Hows the head, Glenn? Rusting above the liquid line would indicate to me that water evaporating from the alcohol is condensing on the blades. I think I read that the guy just bought 2 razors and Immersed the whole things. Gee, scales and all? "The effects of celluloid scales and blades totally immersed in alcohol!" No telling what melting scales mixed with alcohol would do!
