Wapi's - 1 with Tarnish and 1 with a Tiny Chip

Hey all,

I just received a 2 wapis from 2 different sources. Both have some small issues I'd like to get fixed up at some point, or do it myself, its kinda up in the air at this point. Anyways, both shave exceptionally well and I love them. They are my only vintage blades and I would like to bring them to their full potential.

The first razor I used MAAS on and alot of the, what i'm guessing to be water spots disappeared, but this large on at the tip just will not go away.

The second one i assume can be honed out pretty easily? I'm not about to attempt it now since I think I'd just screw it up lol, I just wanted to know for future reference.

I would think that some work on a buffing wheel would remove the slight pitting on the nose of your Wapi.

A good bevel reset and hone should sort out the second.

I really like the shaves from my Wapis; enjoy yours :)

Mine has developed the same spot on the toe of the blade where it comes into contact with the scales. The chip can be honed out easily. The one with the pitting on the spine at the toe could use some work with sandpaper then a buffer to get it out. Great razors, I'm sure you will enjoy them...

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm glad its an easy fix. I'm thinking of getting one of them rescaled (I've been in contact with john Cole about some other custom work, perhaps I'll get him to fit some new scales as well hehe) and keeping one all original. I've had shaves with both, and both give me some of the best shaves I've had with a straight. Anyways, babbling again, Thanks again for your replies :)
