Easy Tumbler Separator

Hey guys. Back when I went trawling through the tumbler thread and people were talking about keeping multiple blades from bumping into each other I was hanging a picture in the bathroom, but I slipped and hit my head on the toilet. When I woke up I had a vision:

er...that is, I was sitting at my computer and had an idea. Maybe someone's already done it but I haven't seen anything like it yet.

It's basically just a cardboard fan that compartmentalizes the bowl. One blade per section and they should never come close to each other. The circulating media push against each blade so that it actually spins slowly and doesn't seem to mess up the tumbling at all.

This is just a crude one I chopped out of a beef box, but it's been working for a few days now. Once the tail of a blade pointed up and got stuck in the vented tumbler lid but apart from that no issues.

Excellent design. I've got the very same tumbler (for about a week now) and did have a nice full-hollow chip out an crack badly when it collided with another blade. I'll give this a try, too. Thank you!

Ooh, that's nasty. I wouldn't have had the courage to throw more than one blade in normally.

Well, there was a long thread about these tumblers, and the concensus there was that you could put in more than one blade. So I tried it. And now regret it. Maybe none of the blades are supposed to be full hollows.
