same technique, diff't results.

sooo. 2 diff't razors, 2 diff't stories.

The first one had a lot of pitting when I started and still had a good amount when I finished, but had an otherwise near mirror surface. The second one had 0 pitting and fairly fine scratches, and did not need the rough sanding, but did not achieve the same mirror polish.

the first one got 60, 120, 225, 400, 600, 1k, 1.5k, polish
the second got 400, 600, 1k, 1,5k, polish.

NOTE: that is the back side of the razor in the after picture, I did NOT sand the chief to death.

You can see crisscrossing scratches in the last photo. Looks like you move up in grits before finishing each one. Lots of medium grit leftover scratches way bigger than 1500.

They may be the original scratches that were there before you even started sanding. You may need to go below 400 grit in order to get them too disappear.

poop, thats what I was afraid of. I don't know if I can without losing the indian head. thats one of the reasons I started at 400
