The Woodwright's Shop is on either Saturday or Sunday, around the time my kids get up from naps. If it was on 20 minutes earlier I'd get to enjoy it more often even though SWMBO makes fun of me when I watch it. Something about me having a hard time cutting a straight line with power tools...
Anyhoo, hope they're coming along well enough (or at least you didn't completely butcher the 2nd set).
The few times I've used a spokeshave, it worked best with a _very, very_ light depth of cut. The blade tends to dig in and do damage, otherwise. It's a tricky adjustment, unless your spokeshave has micrometer-screw adjustments for depth of cut (which the good ones do have).

thanks to all who responded, i have pretty much finished with the spokeshave, and it did tend to dig, but i was wise enough to stop when it did, and sand it out. i didnt tear up the other set, and was able to use the shave to help shape this set, i do believe they turned out pretty good, i will definately post pics when done.
perhaps they just broke up..
