Improvising a dremel?
I have an adjustable-speed cordless drill. Is it possible to rig this up with dremel tools, like the flap wheels, so that I could use it for refinishing blades?
I could just buy a Dremel, I guess, but there's no sense buying a second tool if I already have something that could work...

What speed does your drill rotate at? The standard dremel goes from about 3000 to about 30, 000rpm I believe. Maybe a bit slower and faster, but that's the basic range.
Depending where you are, you can get a dremel for about $40 bucks. Last week C. tire had a sale with a $150 dremel with about 200 pieces for about $50.
Either way, good luck.

I would think the Dremel is much more manuverable and light weight than a cordless drill. I have 2 dremels, 1 corded and 1 cordless. They have now come out with a smaller and different shape cordless I really like the looks of.

You dont have to get an original Dremel. A knockoff will do the job as well for way less $$$. I got my Mastercraft rotary tool off this dude off the street for $15 lol. As he allowed me to copy his driver's licence and write up a bill of sale, I assumed he just needed it for booze and didn't steal it.

My personal favorite alternative is a small block V8.
