Another couple of ebay rescues - Edaco 11 and John Milner Intrinsic
I've had plenty of workshop time this week so finished off, an road tested, another couple of light restorations.
The first is a 5/8" EDACO 11 with faux tortoiseshell scales with a white plastic wedge and I'm guessing it's maybe 1950-60? Grind is approx. Henckels VIII with a transverse stabilizer, jimped above & below. The scales are very thin and it feels a bit cheap (cutting marks were still visible on scales tho' I've polished them out), however it has three pins and was etched so maybe it isn't as bargain-basement as it appears???

I reckon it had been in good condition until not so long ago - the rust looked to me like someone had used it pretty recently and put the razor away wet, unfortunately the pitting was extremely deep and I didn't think I could make it look half-way decent without sacrificing the etching:(
There was also a bit of a frown in the blade (maybe it had been put away wet in disgust after an unpleasant experience!).

Polished and the frown honed out it's a decent little razor, a bit lightweight for my tastes but provides a reasonable shave, considering it cost me £0.99 ($1.59) it would seem churlish to complain:).
Number two is a John Milner Intrinsic - another 5/8" with a very shallow, slightly oblique, round-point. Grind is roundabout Henckels IV with double stabilizers, jimping above & below with good deep engracing on the blade (tho' the tang stamping is very faint).
Scales are Bakelite with an off-whote wedge, I think it's a synthetic material but appears to have a grain, maybe a good quality ivorine:shrug:

Forgot to take before pictures but the condition wasn't too bad, main issue was the blade had an "s" profile (pronounced frown and smile), apologies for the soap-induced finger marks in the picture, too lazy to re-do.
This stretched, and greatly improved, my fledgling honing skills. The bevel does appear very uneven but the edge is perfectly straight (checked with a straight edge during honing). Not sure how I've managed such an uneven bevel with a straight edge so all observations welcomed.

The shave is pretty good - clean and comfortable, I guess it's now pretty worn but still good for a shave or two yet!
