My starters.
I thought I would get some opinions of some before and after shots of my first two razors. My first razor is a Genco Henry's X that I picked up on ebay. The second is a Bussold Bussard which was given to me by my father in-law and mother in-law.

Very nice restorations! :D

Nice work, they look MUCH better.
Did you hand sand them?

Very nice work. Keep it going to get the scratches out.

Thanks for the kind words. The scratches definitely stood out more in the pics than they did under normal light in my hands. The Genco I started out sanding with my Dremel, then moved to hand sanding once the worst of the stuff was gone. The Bussold was all hand sanded. I did some polishing with Tripoli then a finer Blue polishing compound using felt pads on my Dremel. I need to go back a few stages on the sanding and try to get some of those scratches worked out. I have up to 2000 grit wet/dry sandpaper and have been looking at picking up some micromesh or 3m polishing sheets to get things as smooth as possible before trying to polish again. As soon as I can get the Treasurer to release some more funds for equipment, I'll see if I can get things looking better and post more pictures at that time. Then I'll just need to get the Genco sent out to Glen and see if he can get it honed so I can see what a sharp razor feels like. I'm hoping that I can learn to hone so I can get the Bussold in shaving shape also.

Looks good. Sounds good.
That Glen fellow will probably put a darn fine edge on that razor for you. :D :D
