Has anyone ever tried pinning with tungsten rod? I have a source where I can get 1/16" tungsten pins. I have tried peening it and it mushrooms nicley. Is there anyreason this would be bad to use as a pin?

No. Anything can be used as a pin as long as it peens and is string enough.
Your able to peen Tungsten with a normal steel hammer?
My bad, sorry,do not think you mean T,Carbide
I wouldn't use Tungsten. It is very tough, but it is not known for its malleability. It is considered a brittle metal.
I use stainless steel TIG filler rod and brazing rod and it seems to work just fine.
Give it a go and see.
Something tells me you will regret this if you need to remove to replace...
Tbh I was surprised that you say it would peen.
Are you sure it is (or contains) Tungsten?
In my experiances Tungsten steel is hard and heavy as crap. Niether of those characteristics scream "scale pin". Give it a try maybe it will work great but then again I wouldn't use a pretzle stick to pin a razor just because I had one on hand. Lol
Not knowing what the OP actually has, pure tungston (the metal) is extreamly maliable (SP)?
