    Default Restoration supplies

Just starting to restore some razors and am looking to buy some nice fancy washers and scale material. Have not had luck finding the washers locally. Using 1/16 brass rod. Any help and online sources would be great.

Try 1/16 rod from hobby lobby. Get your washers from microfasteners, Size "0" & "00", I believe...

Yep yep and yep. Microfasteners is a great place. Get stainless and brass in all the 1/16" sizes if you plan on doing very many at all.

Hobby Lobby, Lowes, Home Depot (maybe, haven't confirmed this one), and my local ACE/ Tru-Value all have brass rod around here.

Another yes for Microfasteners. Also if you're handy you can make your own washers with brass sheet stock, usually found in hobby stores.

What kind of synthetic materials you all using for scales. I was looking at abs plastic as I think I can cut it on my scroll saw. Would love to use micarta or G-10 but cutting would be a problem with the tools I have, not to mention the toxic dust.

Also having problem finding bone in long enough lengths for most of my razors. Seems like 5 inches is about as long as I can find. Got horn coming in 6 inches from mastercraft.

Most pet stores sell real, uncoated/unflavored cow bones in the dog bone section. They won't come in nice pre-cut slabs but you get a lot of scale material for cheap.
