New to restoration, before I get in over my head
I figured before I dive in head first and realize I left my scuba tank back on the boat I would shoot you masters of metal a message. I have a few blades that need light restoration. Mostly some light rust removal, some darker black rust, mostly dried oil in between the scales turned to black goop. I wanted to know what were the usual supplies that are the basics to have on hand while doing something like this. So far I've just been lightly using alcohol pads, a microfiber cleaning cloth (that is now very very dirty, so I'll have to get another one), and some light non-aggressive jewelry cleaner ment for all metals. What should I use to remove black rust? Oh and how does one go about removing the pins in the scales so I can clean in between them better. ANY help would be greatly appreciated. Help me save these blades!
Thank you ahead of time
