I've seen a couple guys on here do it. Havent used one though.

I've done it... no problems that i've found.. I've still been able to get between them from time to time to shine them up a bit with some maas polish when needed. I have not noticed any issues...but I'm not a doctor :D
I did with the hobby store stuff, IMO its too thick and heavy.
Lee valley has the right stuff, in rolls of the right thickness (someone posted, cant remember who -search it)

You have to think about the scale flex... and the added weight
When a razor is set up with an actual wedge it has a flex in the scales as the razor opens and closes, you are going to be "Gluing" metal to a inside curve and then flexing that curve...
If you over weight the scales you will have a fun time stropping and honing, shaving may or may not be effected depending on your style...
It is something that needs some planning for use !!!! and not just looks
You want the really thin stuff like .005
A great point... I completely overlooked this in my reply (I was speaking from an upkeep/blade damage standpoint). But you definitely don't want to throw your balance out of whack, or anything like that.Quote:

Brass is not too bad compared to aluminium which some people have used before.
