    Havachat, aluminum is pretty well toxic when it's heated enough to give off fumes. You might look into it. OTOH, I'd be interested to know how you do it. I'm looking for something I can cast or pound into shape. Sanding tiny wedges is something I'm having extreme trouble with.

    Go to just about any local machine shop, fab shop or scrap yard and just ask. They will usually have an assortment of small scraps they will give or sell you for cheap. Probably most common metals and some exotics from time to time.
