The Purist type of razor is an interesting concept. Has anyone been successful in restoring an existing vintage blade into a purist razor?

Yes quite a few, but the restores/fixes were first.
To clarify, the restores and fixes were done out of necessity, not to copy the Puriest razor, and both were made to emulate the much older Kamisori style.
I think this was the last one I did..

This one had a lot of rust at the toe and a chipped heel when I got it.
It's not exactly a purist, but definitely inspired by it.
These fixed blade or non-folding razors take a little getting used to, but are a lot of fun IMO.

This was my attempt at saving a cracked blade:

That is a beautiful handle. How is it made, what material?
The handle on my one was 2 pieces of acrylic sandwiched and pinned over a thinned down tang.
