W&B Fixup
I've finally done it. This is my first full restoration (scales included) so it's not perfect (the scales/wedge are a bit too long, there was some pitting I could not get rid of, the gap is too wide and I'm not too happy about the liners), but I've learned a few things:
1) A heat gun will really speed up the CA process but...
2) It will give off noxious fumes (that's why I treated the wedge with Truoil)
3) Be extra careful with the measurements
It's still a decent looker and will become a great shaver once I grind down the bevel by about 1/32 on the 1000. In addition to that it's great practice for the TEW that's on its way.

She's OK as a learning experience and should make a good shaver once I get her honed, so I'm not complaining too much, but I'm not deluding myself into thinking I created a masterpiece either lol.

As my photography isn't too good, I'll add a couple more points:
1) The finish is 1000 grit satin. Looks better in person.
2) The wood is padauk
3) The blade was badly corroded when I got it, so I removed most of the etching just to get to this point.

Well done Ilija. I didn't know you had it in you.

Well done Ilija 1st one under the belt. Hopefully many more to come!
When will I get my first one finished? Who knows!

Thanks for the encouragement. I have another 1 or 2 fairly quick ones in mind...
Truoil-finished chechen scales for the re-ground TEW and I had a set of clear plexies lying around for the TEW I got from Ivo. Those will come after I shave-test this puppy.

Ilija,
This is nice! Being a first one - I am looking forward to see how you progress from such a great start!
Cheers
