Is it possible to make a blade to thin or not?
I sanded the crap out of it and finally just decided to give up and list it on ebay with
"Some old rust has been cleaned of leaving some shallow pitting, it is clearly visible in one of the pictures"
I gave up cause I figured I'd end up making the blade to thin.
Is that possible?
I know disposable blades are super thin, but a straight? :shrug:
This looks like a fairly substantial grind for a hollow. In any case the pitting doesn't seem too deep, so you should be able to get rid of it without ruining that lovely blade. My recommendation would be to remove the scales before continuing. This baby demands the full TLC treatment. You may even consider scale-making :D
That's too bad....the blade style is my favorite by Boker.
You could always 'cheat' and send it to J.Chandler or R.Williams to have them 'regrind' or resurface the blade. That takes most of the elbow-work out of it....
