Japanese Natural Honing -
Which picture best shows your J-nat after you are done honing a SR ???
ie: Do you finish after diluting to clear water, or do you finish on the slurry ??

Little of both. I don't finish with that much slurry but some.

Always with clear water. When I'm done I'm done and I want the minimum cutting action in the final stage so no slurry for me.

My Ozuku is great when finishing on water but I forgot until you just reminded me. I usually finish on slurry but not thick.
My Nakayama on the other hand, I cannot finish on water, it worsens the edge.
I could be completely wrong and deluded though

That matches my experience with my two respective stones... I finish my Shobu on light slurry...

All of the above. Depends on what the razor needs. Sometimes 3-5 strokes bone dry.

Thin slurry for me. I do a few strokes dry after finishing, but I have a separate piece of uchigumori that I use for that. A few dry strokes seem to boost HHT. Originally Posted by onimaru55

Misty slurry. A lot less slurry at any stage than the first photo. I generally use for finishing a slurry that bunched up would be about the size of 2 quarters.
