Oh it's definitely a joke...says it in the title too...but i couldn't stop laughing...especially the milk and tap the blade to make it softer part

I dunno what you guys are talking about...this method is tried and true...I do find however that it works best with butter...

SiC is usually an abrasive material but this particular company (a maker of industrial knives for the leather industry) used them to line their heat treating kilns as they felt it held the nitrogen atmosphere in better than regular furnace brick. They were custom made by Norton for this company (both are in Worcester, MA which is next door to me). Well, anyway, I've been looking at these things and am going to start experimenting with them as waterstone flatteners. I'll let you know how it goes. Maybe I'll put a video of it up on YouTube.
