Might have been a joke, but he cut the 8K side of his norton several times...

Definitely a joke, but I did see where
he hit the 8k side of the stone several times
while sawing on the brick. Maybe he
should lap the stone with a roofing shingle for
his next video.

Needed a good laugh . . .
That was well done and I laughed so hard the cat came in to see what was up. On another note . . . I recently picked up a pile of bricks made from silicon carbide. SiC is usually an abrasive material but this particular company (a maker of industrial knives for the leather industry) used them to line their heat treating kilns as they felt it held the nitrogen atmosphere in better than regular furnace brick. They were custom made by Norton for this company (both are in Worcester, MA which is next door to me). Well, anyway, I've been looking at these things and am going to start experimenting with them as waterstone flatteners. I'll let you know how it goes. Maybe I'll put a video of it up on YouTube. BTW, if you want to see a video I have put up there, check out "Green Fire Starters" by searching on "Howard Schechter" on YouTube.

Maybe he was inspired by the way some woodworkers use a concrete block to flatten waterstones...
