Hello all good people,

I have been restoring one of mine razors (Griffon XX #60) and when I purchase this razor I thought razor was in good shape. Unfortunately rust was painted by some kind of paint matching blade color. This was discovered by me when I got razor in my hands. So I start removing rust but pitting was really deep and I need to remove quite a lot of metal before I got all rust off (I guess not all is gone as steel there is small pitting). Problem: I realized that with this excess removal of metal spine become uneven and can be feel under passing finger or even visible when closely inspected. How to make spine back even to the same level? I was thinking to use lapping technique like for hones to level spine with remaining part. Uneven part is only at the end of the blade and is about ¼” long. Maybe I just should not worry as remaining spine will be enough to execute proper honing? Any advice?

Best regards
