You have to understand that what you just asked is pretty hard for anyone to answer...
We don't allow valuations
We don't allow Vendor Bashing
Basically all any one can say here is "Wow Big Old W&B" or "Nice Razor"
-
IMO...not worth anywhere near that price. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice looking package but the W&B's that usually fetch anywhere near that price are all original.
But the price and value are in the eye of the purchaser...it may be worth it to you...I may be a little biased in my opinion, because when I bought mine a few years ago I paid $70...lol.

Hi Glen - yea you're right, wasn't looking for an evaluation, more of an opinion on the restore and the razor, but that could be interpreted as bashing I guess.
Thanks!

Yeah it gets pretty hard, even though they are not a "SRP Vendor" our policies about the subject still apply..

Look at pic 6- the etching is buffed and lacks the crisp original lines the razor originally had. It's a good restoration, the razor looks nice. The scales are beautiful but obviously not original. IMO personally I would pass only because of the buffed out lettering....
YMMV greatly...... At te end of the day nice razor, nice restoration nice custom scales... Seems like a great razor to have in your rotation, so long as your in the market if spending that kind of money.

While I acknowledge the tough find that it is and the nice scales and the work that obviously went into the restore I must say I'd rather be selling that than buying it. If I had that kind of cash to drop I'd be looking at a custom. We all have our preferences ...

Out of curiosity, would you design your own custom or what custom razor would you be interested in?

Ive always really like the shape of the W&B Ottoman Egyptian. I think I'd start looking for someone to make one based on that shape. Not a remake per say but holding the general lines.

Nice restore, but as mentioned before; you could get the same size and exact specs with you're choice of scales materials from a custom job for that. Again if you have the mula and the want no one here will say anything cross if that is truly what you want.
