Masonic Fredrick Reynolds Sheffield shave ready straight razor with horn scale
Pretty bad... appears to have been reynolds that was rotten going by the tang stamp, reground, and a dodgy masonic etch added.
Because it's as fake as a Chinatown Rolex
Words.... cannot describe......
That poor, POOR razor!!! I'm not sure I want to hear what "stories it could tell".
On the bright side, at least the seller isn't "blowing smoke":

From what I can gather, a pipe razor is a straight edge razor. This particular example would seem to be a custom rigging of such a razor, as most examples I can find are foldable. The handle on this one is a hardwood with carved decoration and a dimple presumably placed for the user's thumb or fingers. The razor itself shows considerable wear as it has been sharpened to the point that the blade has crossed over some of the lettering stamped on it. It is secured to the wooden handle by copper wiring wound repeatedly around it and then nailed into the handle. Overall the razor weighs about 4.5 ounces. It measures about 9" long and the handle is about 1.25" at its widest. I know nothing about its age. I acquired it from an auction house in Florida along with some old Zuni Pueblo fetish carvings. They were reportedly items from the estate of a university professor.
