Thanked: 1185The wedge shape has a purpose. It adds a spring like action to the scales. This keeps the razor opening and closing with even pressure better than relying on the tightness of the pin alone. The scales may also widen when closing to better accept the edge between them. Depends on the razors tang and scale material. Most use a spacer when there is no bend or give to the scale material being used. In my opinion spacers just don't look right, but if the scale material demands it then your stuck. Some, I suppose, do it for the look and hey , if it's your razor do what makes you smile. For function ,,, not so much.

It is pretty, and the seller is proud of it, judging by the asking price .......

It must mean a lot to him... It is beautiful, but this is another razor I will be admiring from afar.

It looks to me like there is still quite a bit of 'Black Rust' in the obvious pitting that was not cleaned up...just saying, that for that kind of money you would think it should be a 'little more perfect'...MHO.

Well, to be honest, Cheetah. Big old GB's have been sort of 'passe' since you quit coming around and that other guy got banned!
You 2 had all the big GB's. We have had to move on!"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
