I have never used an app--of any kind.
I certainly don't need one when there are so many sniping websites available.
Happened to me once, that was enough. Was on 3g in a remote area, so no-one heard the profanities...
Had it happen myself on several razors that I was away from the computer and relied on using the phone to bid.
I'm hoping that the one I recently got, wasn't the one you were looking at, as I just grabbed an MK 33 in "natural" scales:

I have never had any problems and I only use my phone to bid.
Had the same thing happen on a shoulderless Torrey day before yesterday, I've been looking for a 6/8+ in good shape and it went for half of my intended bid. Good luck on your quest for your MK.
I never use a sniping tool, as whoever has the highest bid at the last second wins.
Sniping only works if the bid maximum is higher than the bid placed at the last second, if I submit my last bid when the clock hit's 2s and it's higher than all the other final bids, highest bidder wins - sniping tool or not, never lost a razor I really wanted to win.
I agree with Phrank.
You HAVE to set a limit on what you are willing to pay for something.
If you lost by $1 it does NOT mean the other person outbid you by that same dollar. They could have bid $100 MORE than that it is just the next highest bid after your max was what they ended up paying.
Getting outbid is a part of the deal. However sniping is a strategy to avoid people changing their minds and upping their max at the last second. None of that matters if your max bid didn't register in the first place. If the bid goes through and somebody bids higher then that's that, but you never know if your bid doesn't go through the app
