I wonder what may be cheaper, return signature or insuring for full amount?
I have yet to get the post office to pay out on an insurance claim.
They've lost several hundred dollars worth of stuff, all with tracking showing it going to oblivion and not once have they ever paid.
The insurance might make you feel good, but hope you never have to actually use it.
That's a bummer. I think it was last summer when a small ceramic gift I sent to somebody arrived broken. It had the automatic $50 insurance that comes with priority mail by default. Certainly not worth going to the post office, but it only took less than 5 minutes to fill out the form online. Lo and behold it was approved it and in a few weeks I got check for the $50 (the item cost more, but it was still much better than nothing).
