That's just a cryin' shame. A prime example of what can happen when you attempt something you have no business doing.
On the other hand maybe it was something like that scene in that movie "The War of the Roses" where he was sawing the heels off all of her Italian pumps.Iron by iron is sharpened, And a man sharpens the face of his friend. PR 27:17

Thanked: 104Maybe he was trying to make a lovely double sided razor? It would make stropping a chore, but I cant figure out what he was up to.

Thanked: 48It can definitely be honed freehand like a knife. Stropped like a knife also.

Matt posted a technique he uses for Uneven spines/blades, he and I are friends but we disagree on this one thing
To me, it is sacrilege to intentionally grind a spine because you don't know how to hone properly, but once again if there is an "Easy Way" many people will follow"No amount of money spent on a Stone can ever replace the value of the time it takes learning to use it properly"

Nothing that half a roll of tape won't take care of, that's for sure. Just ugly to look at.

Thanked: 3215He was confused, thought it was a Gold Dollar.
Yes, it can be honed, make a frame-back spine with a piece of hard plastic or brass tubing, You will have to take some spine and blade measurements to get the spine width right, so you get the proper blade angle.
Fortunately, there are tons of Wade Butchers in the wild, they were the Ford model A razor of the day.
