    Default Rotten Scales

If any of you are looking/bidding on the scale lots on ebay (NOS "warehouse find" many with the Herder *Crossed Keys*
I just got mine, and will be returning them as the stench of vinegar from the bag, and the corroded inlays are all dead giveaways that the scales are in full blown cell rot status. Maybe its not all of them, but Im not willing to find out the hard way which are good, if any.
So, be aware, you may get perfectly good scales on the cheap, or you may be sending your razors to the rustbin.

I was willing to take a chance as they offer a generous return policy (at least on my lot) it is a bit of a letdown. Im not saying dont bid, but I thought everyone should know the risks before we have a whole slew of new entries into the Hall of Shame or Ebay 101

    Thanks for the heads up!

Bad thing about cell rot is it is contagious and will spread to other scales and blades of any razors that are close to the cell rotted scales. If a razor contracts cell rot the only cure is remove and dispose of the contaminated scales.
