Wait the new one uses the same pictures as the last one doesn't it? And he got $510 for plastic handles. $600 doesn't seem to unrealistic for ivory.

I noticed that one too, and another 2 threads started to let you know its for sale.
The blades look to be in good condition so I can't imagine there was a dissatisfied customer. Perhaps some shill bidding as you mentioned?
That kind of crap should be reported to eBay otherwise these people will just keep trying stuff like that, assuming eBay will even acknowledge your concerns.
I don't think I'd ever pay $500 for this set... but that's me :)
It is entirely possible that he has two sets of these and is just reusing the photos, but I am very skeptical, to be honest

Sure, he could be re-using photos for another similar set. But to me that's not cool - the buyer uses the photos to make a judgment. And he directs email inquiries to the photos.Quote:

You know...that's what I was thinking at first too!
If I was not familiar with the seller, I would think he had a friend buy it (or he bought is own auction under an assumed name) at a high price to jack-up it's value, so during the next round (posting of the same item) it would sell for even more!
Of course, watching that it does sell for high with that assumed name.
However, this might just be the wrong pictures posted for the item....common mistake for a seller that makes multiple postings.
I've delt with this seller in the past with great results, and have seen him posting for quite some time.....
Either way it definitely constitutes asking the seller a question!
